An uncontested divorce offers a quick marriage dissolution without the need for the court to make a determination on any issues. The process involves the submission of the appropriate papers, a court review of the submission, and the final judgment of divorce. This is the fastest, most economical way to proceed with a divorce and is appropriate when the couple has agreed on spousal and child support, parenting plans, and the division of the marital assets. This type of divorce is based on a flat fee which is determined by whether or not the couple has children or marital property.
Contested Divorce
Not all marriages can end with the couple agreeing on all issues of separation, and the court may need to decide some issues if the parties cannot work it out.
